Day 1
Tour in Lima
Schedule and Departure Point:
Morning tour: Available every day at 11:00 a.m.
Afternoon tour: Tuesday to Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Meeting point: Avenida Petit Thouars, Miraflores.
Duration: 3 hours and 30 minutes.
We begin our journey in the dynamic district of Miraflores, from where we head to the Historic Center. Along the way, we will stop (for a panoramic view) at the Huaca Pucllana Archaeological Center, a testament to 1,500 years of history.
Before entering the historic heart, we will pass by (from the Mirabus) the Reserve Park, home to the famous Magic Water Circuit, awarded the Guinness World Record. Enjoy this complex of fountains, the largest in the world in a public park.
We will explore Plaza Grau, Paseo de los Héroes Navales, and Plaza San Martín. We will navigate the pedestrian streets of the historic center, where the most important government buildings stand, such as the Presidential Palace, the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the Cathedral of Lima.
The highlight of our tour will be a visit to the Convent of San Francisco and its famous catacombs. Descend into a 30- to 40-minute underground journey that will immerse you in vaults built with brick, lime, and stone, revealing the fascinating arrangement of bodies, estimated to have housed some 25,000 people.
