Welcome dinner. Begin your trip by pairing our house wines with the proposal of Peruvian gastronomy with an Amazonian influence. The menu offers several options, including a vegetarian alternative. Please let us know of any special dietary requirements in advance. After dinner you will be able to enjoy a spectacular view of the starry sky, while we begin our journey deep into the Amazon jungle.
Before breakfast we will start a boat excursion in the Yanallpa del Ucayali area (Ucayali River), located in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, where numerous species of native animals will be sighted. After breakfast we will be ready to start a new boat excursion to the Tapiche River in search of wildlife.
Before noon you will return to the boat where a cooking demonstration will be held by the executive chef. After lunch, whoever wishes can attend a talk about the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve and in the afternoon we will take a boat excursion to the Dorado River, where we will fish with local techniques.
Before returning to the Zafiro we will go on a night excursion in search of alligators, tarantulas, frogs and other species that appear when the sun goes down.
Return to the ship and dinner on board.
In the morning after breakfast we will go by boat to explore the black water Yarapa River, where the famous pink and gray freshwater dolphins swim. Return to Zafiro, from where we will observe the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañón rivers, the place where these two rivers meet, giving rise to the Amazon River.
After lunch, in the afternoon, we will go by boat on the Amazon River and visit the Huasi community. There we will observe how they live and learn more about their customs, always from the hand of our guides, who will act as interpreters for us.
We will enjoy a bath in the Tahuayo River and before returning to the boat we will be able to appreciate the colors of the Amazonian sunset. Back on the boat, you can relax with live music before the presentation of the crew and farewell dinner.
After breakfast we will proceed to disembark. On the way to the airport, we will visit the Amazon Rescue Center (CREA), where biologists and volunteers take care of manatees, an endangered species that the authorities have rescued.
We will observe how the manatees are treated and prepared for their reinsertion into their natural habitat. Likewise, we will be able to see other animals that have also been rescued.
