Day 1
Canyon of the lost
We begin the day with pick-up from hotels located in Cercado de Ica (Plaza de Armas, Huacachina, and/or Residencial La Angostura).
Our first stop will be in the district of Ocucaje, a place full of local charm. Here we will visit the main square while a guide gives a brief historical overview of the place. Travelers will be able to take photos next to the district’s emblematic sculptures: the prehistoric shark, the traditional farmer, and the fighting cocks, cultural icons of the area.
Before continuing, we will make a strategic stop at a local restaurant, where passengers can have breakfast (optional) and stock up on snacks or drinks for the road. It is an ideal break to recharge your batteries before entering the desert.
We continue on to the imposing Cañón de los Perdidos, a natural gem hidden in the Ica desert. Upon arrival, we stop at the main viewpoint to admire this impressive geological formation, while the guide provides fascinating information about the place. Then, we will walk through the mouth of the canyon and enter its interior, descending to the intersection of the Ica River and the Seco River.
Along the way, we will discover an amazing ecosystem, home to birds such as owls and vultures, as well as small desert species such as lizards. A perfect place to take spectacular photos!.
Before returning to the city, we make one last stop for lunch (optional) at a local restaurant. And to top it all off, we will visit an artisanal winery where passengers can enjoy a tasting of wines, piscos, and delicious pisco creams made in the region. A complete experience of flavor and tradition.
Finally, we will return comfortably to the city of Ica.
