We’ll also visit the Miraflores boardwalk and Larcomar, where we’ll enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean.

Day 3
Trip to Cusco
You will be picked up at approximately 1:00 p.m. today and taken to the airport for your flight to Cusco.

Day 4
Cusco City Tour
This tour lasts an average of 5 hours and 30 minutes.
We’ll start with a morning city tour on a shared tour bus. You’ll enjoy a guided tour of downtown Cusco, including the Lima Cathedral and the sacred temple known as Koricancha, before heading out to the surrounding area to visit the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay.
SACSAYHUAMAN. — The impressive Sacsayhuaman fortress is strategically built on a hill from which you can see all of Cusco. It is famous for its enormous carved stones, some of which are 9 meters or 30 feet tall and weigh more than 350 metric tons.
QENQO.—Located four kilometers northeast of the city of Cusco, it features the archaeological sites of Qenqo Grande and Qenqo Chico.
PUCA PUKARA.—This means “red fortress” because the limestone blocks used in its construction have taken on the reddish hue of the soil, which is rich in iron.
TAMBOMACHAY.—It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals, and several waterfalls flowing over the rocks. What is surprising is that, from a single main waterfall, the Incas created two secondary waterfalls, which are exactly alike.
You’ll have the afternoon free to stroll around the city.
5
Day 5
Full Day Sacred Valley Tour
We’ll pick you up from your lodging in Cusco after breakfast and take you along a road that winds through the mountains north of Cusco. Along the way, we’ll stop at a famous viewpoint known as El Mirador. From there, we’ll be able to see the Sacred Valley and get a sense of Inca history.
The Sacred Valley was one of the main areas where the Incas settled. There is an unusual abundance of fertile plains in this high-altitude region of the Andes. You’ll also see the large contour terraces and irrigation canals left behind by the Incas.
Later, we’ll head to the ruins of Pisac. Here, you’ll witness and learn about Inca culture. You’ll see incredible stonework and impressive agricultural terraces. Then we’ll head to the town of Urubamba to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.
After the included buffet lunch, we’ll drive along the Urubamba River toward the town of Ollantaytambo. Once we arrive in Ollantaytambo, we’ll visit the ruins, an important site of Inca architecture built during the height of the Inca Empire. This is an extraordinary Inca site because you can find rock formations representing the Inca god, Wiracocha.
Today, you’ll spend the night in Ollantaytambo so that the next day you can take your train from the station for your adventure to Machu Picchu.

Day 7
Rainbow Mountain Full Day
Our day begins with a pickup at your hotel in Cusco around 4:30 a.m.
We’ll begin our journey by van to the trailhead, a roughly 3-hour drive from Cusco to the community of Hanchipacha, where we’ll stop for breakfast. After that, we’ll drive another 15 minutes to the community of Quesiuno (4,326 m / 14,189 ft).
We’ll begin our hike, which will take approximately 3 hours. Along the way, we’ll enjoy incredible views of herds of alpacas and llamas, Mount Ausangate, many red mountains, and traditional local homes.
The mountains are one of the most spectacular sights in the Vilcanota mountain range, known for their natural coloring, which is caused by the erosion of sedimentary rocks. What’s truly impressive is how the rocks have formed a palette of seven colors.
When we finally arrive at the Rainbow Mountain (5,020 m / 16,466 ft), you’ll have time to explore the area and take photos. We’ll spend approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour there (depending on your walking speed and weather conditions).
Afterward, we’ll begin our hike back to the trailhead, which takes about 2 hours (Quesiuno Community), where we’ll board our transportation to the Hanchipacha community for lunch. After lunch, we’ll head back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 p.m.
