3.30 pm COLONIAL ROUTE
Historical Center walking tour – Declared by the OEA – 1986 “Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Americas” It is one of the most important monumental complexes in America, the scene of one of the events that changed the history of Peru and the continent, called “The meeting of two worlds”.
We will visit the main square, San Francisco temple, the Virgen de los Dolores Sanctuary, Bethlehem with imposing baroque-style facades (Temple, colonial hospitals, archaeological and ethnographic museums), the Ransom Room, which served to fill the treasures with gold and silver offered in exchange for the freedom of Inca Atahualpa and finally the Santa Apolonia viewpoint, where there are remains carved into the rock known as “Silla del Inca”, in addition to having a privileged panoramic view of the city.
9:30 am: MYSTICAL AND ARCHEOLOGICAL ROUTE
CUMBEMAYO: Let’s enjoy the impressive north andean landscape and the mysticism caused by the rock forests, where there is evidence that man worked 1,000 years ago. C. such as the Sanctuary, a modeled grotto that has the shape of a gigantic human head with notorious evidence of petroglyphs (figures engraved on the rock that have not been deciphered until now), the channel, is an admirable work of hydraulic engineering made in mountains above 3,500 meters above sea level and served to divert the waters from the Pacific slope to the Atlantic. In addition, during the trip we will visit: The Bellavista viewpoint, and the pre-Inca Layzón temple.
3:30 p.m. THE CAJAMARCA TRADITION ROUTE : Ventanillas de Otuzco, Tres Molinos and Los Alpes:
The tour begins by visiting one of the most important cemeteries that the Cajamarca pre inca Culture had, which are a set of galleries and niches that resemble windows carved into volcanic rock. Then we moved to the Tres Molinos area (former hacienda) where the Hortensia Garden with a variety of flowers is known: hydrangeas, begonias, cartridges, etc. and also native trees.
Finally we get to know Fundo Los Alpes, where you can see the elaboration of typical dairy products from Cajamarca Cheese in its different varieties, butter and blancmange.
9:15 a.m. PORCON FARM VISIT
On the way we visit Huambocancha, a town characterized by stone carvers of different handicrafts in granite and marble. Then we move to Porcón Farm, a community that owns more than 11,000 hectares of land, in which around 8,000 are forested with different varieties of pines, we will visit the craft workshops (textiles) and the zoo (bears, lions , otorongos, pumas, ostrich, etc.)
3:30 p.m. FARMING ROUTE: Collpa and Llacanora
Surrounded by landscapes of green areas and cattle raising, we will observe the classic “calling of cows by their name” for daily milking, also visit the artificial lagoon, decorated with small bridges, gardens and geese swimming in the lagoon, the hacienda house in addition to its chapel of the Virgen del Carmen. Then we go to Llacanora, a picturesque town, typical of the Peruvian highlands, a source of inspiration for landscape painters, known as the Swiss Cajamarquina, finally we pass through the Baños del Inca district, the most important spa on the north coast, with thermal waters that exceed 70° temperature.
9:15 a.m. THE TROUTS ROUTE: Namora and San Nicolas
We will enjoy the beauty of the Cajamarca valley, visit Alameda de los Incas, an area of natural formations called Los Sapitos, square and market of the district of Namora (guitar workshops), lagoon of San Nicolás the largest in the region (optional boat ride) – Does not include lunch
Afternoon at leisure
6:00 – 7:45 a.m. m. You will be taken to Baños del Inca, an important resort in the Peruvian northern highlands with sulphurous waters that exceed 70° in temperature, so that they can take a relaxing bath in a private pool.
