Once we arrive to Arequipa, we will be picked up and transferred to the hotel. After check-in at the hotel, we will have the morning free to go shopping or rest.

P.M.: Arequipa Mirabus

In the afternoon, around 1:30 p.m. We will begin our tour of the city of Arequipa, to begin this interesting tour known as Panoramic Mirabús  we begin with a visit to the architectural monuments and beautiful natural viewpoints that surround the white city. Then we will go to the outskirts of the city where we will first visit the beautiful Sachaca viewpoint, which will offer a beautiful natural landscape of Arequipa and volcanoes.

Then we drive our bus to the Mission of the Founder, a beautiful colonial building where the founder of the city of Arequipa García Manuel de Carvajal lived in the 15th century.

Finally we travel through spectacular Andean landscapes and arrive at the Sabandia mill, an impressive construction based on volcanic rock known as sillar, where you can see an old stone mill that was built in 1785. We will return to Arequipa around 6pm.

Overnight in Arequipa.

We leave Arequipa between 2: 30-3: 00 a.m., we will drive for 3 hours northwest behind Chachani to Chivay, capital of the Colca Canyon. Where we will have breakfast.

We continue driving for 2 hours in the most famous place in the Colca Canyon “La Cruz del Cóndor”. This is where we see the depth of the canyon and the flight of the Condor.

The Andean condor is the largest flying bird in the world by combined measurement of weight and wingspan. Hope you are lucky to see them and take some good pictures.

The area has beautiful typical towns such as Yanque and Maca, colonial churches, friendly people in typical dresses and hats with typical stitching, and hundreds of pre-Inca terraces that are still in use with Andean crops such as corn, quinoa and amaranth. Already in Chivay at noon, there is an optional visit to the La Calera hot springs, with pools that have 40 ° C / 104 ° F temperature.

Once in Chivay we will have a traditional lunch, in our way back we will stop at the highest step: the viewpoint of the volcanoes and the snow-capped mountains in Patapampa (4,800 m). Later we will see wild vicuñas, alpacas and llamas in the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve and some birds such as flamingos, ibis, Andean geese, ducks and eagles called “Kara Kara”. Finally, we arrive in the city of Arequipa in the evening.
